Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B in a distinct blend. She has performed on Broadway and during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real title is Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing an interest in music, as a singer and pianist at church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You A House 12, was released only in Japan. It has been remixed several times, and is the mainstay of her live shows. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choral leader for the production. Sunshine gained attention in the performances that took place over four days of The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
